What we collect
When you fill out a form on this site — our contact form, a newsletter or interest sign-up, or a request for information — we collect what you choose to give us: your name, email address, and any details you add, such as whether you're an alum, your class year, your areas of interest, and your message. If you make a donation or buy a ticket, our payment processor also collects the details needed to take the payment — see “Donations & ticket purchases” below.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to you, to send updates you've asked for (news, event invitations, and ways to help), and to plan and run our programs and events. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
Sharing with St. Gerald School
We will only share your contact information with St. Gerald School if you explicitly opt in by checking the box that offers it — for example, so the school's alumni office can stay in touch. If you don't check that box, we won't share your details with the school. You can ask us to stop at any time.
Service providers
We use trusted third-party tools to operate the site and manage communication. Right now those are Kit, which stores our email list and sends our newsletters, and Clover, which processes donations and ticket purchases. These providers process data on our behalf, store it in the United States, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Everything you send through a form on this site is stored in Google Sheets, in a private spreadsheet that only our own team can open, and messages, gala reservations and sponsorship requests are also emailed to us from there so we can reply. It is a record, not a mailing list: nothing in it is used to add you to our email list. This site also loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads; it sets no cookies and we send it nothing else.
Donations & ticket purchases
When you give or buy a ticket, the payment itself happens on Clover, our payment processor. Choosing an amount takes you to Clover’s own secure checkout page — you leave this site, and your card details are entered there, not here. We never see, handle, or store your card number.
To process your payment, Clover collects your name, email address, phone number and billing address, along with anything you type into the note field. We receive a record of the transaction and those contact details so we can thank you, issue your receipt and acknowledgment, and keep the records a non-profit is required to keep. Clover handles your card details under the payment card industry’s own security rules, and its use of your information is governed by Clover’s privacy policy as well as this one. Because checkout is hosted on Clover’s site rather than embedded in ours, Clover sets no cookies on this site.
Analytics & cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use this site — which pages are read, which links are followed, and roughly which region visitors come from. It sets two cookies in your browser, named _ga and _ga_ followed by a code for this site; both expire about two years after your last visit. It does not store your full IP address, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors. We do not currently use it for advertising or remarketing; if that changes, we will say so here. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser — the site works normally either way. These are the only cookies this site sets.
Your choices
Every newsletter we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. You can also email us at info@tgefoundation.org to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted — including withdrawing permission to share your details with St. Gerald School. You do not need to give a reason, and we will confirm once it is done.
Security & retention
This site is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection. Form submissions stay in our spreadsheet, and the emails about them in our inbox, until we no longer need them; we will delete yours from both on request. Email list records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Records of donations and ticket purchases are kept for as long as charity, tax and accounting rules require, which is longer than the rest — we cannot delete a gift record on request the way we can remove you from a mailing list. Anything else we keep only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and we take reasonable steps to protect it.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults supporting the foundation. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Any student images appearing on this site are published only with appropriate consent.
