Our story
A promise to St. Gerald families.
St. Gerald School has formed students in Oak Lawn since 1929 — nearly a century. As the cost of Catholic education rises, so does the risk that families are priced out of a school they love.
The foundation was created to change that — a dedicated, independent 501(c)(3) raising funds so tuition assistance, faith formation, and a strong campus are always there for the children who need them. Our flagship gala launches that work in April 2027.

Sean & Kelly Hickey
Founders
Sean, the foundation’s Executive Director, is a Certified Public Accountant who has spent most of his career providing accounting, auditing, and consulting services to government and non-profit organizations. Kelly, a graduate of Mother McAuley and Eastern Illinois University, has dedicated her career to early childhood development — eight years in daycare, and today a teacher’s aide in a three-year-old preschool class at a Catholic school.
Both were raised on the south side and educated in Catholic schools; Sean graduated from Brother Rice High School and St. Xavier University. Parishioners of St. Gerald since 2015, they are raising two Giants of their own — Kayla, class of 2021, and Grace, a current student.
